Your artwork is beautiful, I wish I could do that. The art is touching, sweet and... oh, to be short, I relay like it. It's relay beautiful, her mom is careful and she cares for her. And Applejack, she is always honest and lovable. All of them are caring for each other, cute art. They are a relay a special family. Apple family, the best big family, oh, I've got carried away. Explosion of sweet, love, caring and kindness. Friendship always wins, Friendship must win! Come on everypony you know of what I am talking about!
What more can I say than simply beautiful. The artistry, the mood, the colors, the message. It is all breathtakingly wonderful. the colors are truly superb aiding the the arm loving atmosphere that this picture creates for the soul and the mind representing the love that should always be shared between a mother and her child. Not to mention the style, which in my opinion looks even better than that of the show if not dead on. That being said I give this picture a 200 for beauty and heart warming appeal. In short this picture has brightened my day.
Incredibly touching piece! I just love your depiction of Applejack's mom and I find that it ties in beautifully with your Grandfather's memory.
It really saddens me to learn about what you've gone through this past year. I pray that life turns around for you by 2015 and that you can return to state of ease. To you and your folks, Happy Holidays!
To let you know, Pinkie Apple Pie was an episode of the show where it implied that Pinkie may be somehow related to the apples. Since Applejack's mother is named Apple Pie in your headcanon, I thought that this was your way of making Pinkie Pie related to the apples.
It's truly sweet and heartwarming. When you thinks about it we don't know what happened to AJ's parents. Did they die or did they disappeared? It kind of makes her a bit tragic. Someone as her still young helping take care of the farm and her small sister. I bet her mother would be proud if she saw her now. Strong, independent and helping save the world 4 times.
Beautiful... and sad, when you think about what must've happened later on. I do hope that we'll see AJ's parents on the show some day, but until then, I'm glad that there's artists like you drawing touching pictures like this.
Look, don't confuse what I'm going to say with my opinion of this artwork. I'm not a MLP fan myself, but I think this drawing is very nice. My only question is, how did this end up in the Larryboy-Club? Does it...have some....I dunno, hidden connection with Larryboy? -_0?
Excellent job, you two! A really wonderful depiction of the mother-daughter relation that helped make Applejack the mare we know her to be. Both the idea and the drawing are great.
First, I just have to admire that shading. The final image feels like it could be taken out of the show, except that you augment the show style with lighting and shading. The highlights and shadows are consistent with the candle and moon as light sources, and the wall has a nice slight gradient as it recedes from the candle light. The shading adds a nice cosy feel and adds interest to the piece. It also unifies the characters and the background, which gives an authentic feeling to the piece.
Next, the idea behind this is excellent. From the show, we know how important family is to AJ - we have seen how hard she works to keep her sister safe and to keep the rest of her family happy. Though the show never touches upon it, it makes sense for such values to have been instilled in her by her parents. Here, you depict a loving mother hugging her daughter, a powerful image in any context. The emotions of affection and protectiveness are strongly felt by the viewer.
There are a few aspects of this picture that I think could be altered to improve the overall image. First, though Applejack and her mother are meant to be the focus of the piece, the bright lights of the background, especially the moon, vie for attention in the piece. Though the rest of the background does a good job in providing a good backdrop and not attracting too much attention, the moon distracts from the familial scene. The other complaint I have is in the posing of the characters - Though they are posed in a reasonable way, and anatomically are show-accurate, the pose still feels rather awkward. The two give a slight feeling that they were just placed there together, and are not interacting - perhaps a slight tilt to the mother's head, so that she is leaning more against her daughter, or having her left arm (our right) more tightly hugging AJ, it would feel more accurate. Another possibility is seeing their hug from a slightly different angle - the straight-on mom and sideways AJ is not as visually interesting as having one or both of them angled to show more interaction between the two.
However, this piece still is excellent, and both of you should be proud of having created it. Both of you spent a long time creating this piece, and the heart and soul you poured in is definitely shown. Keep up this great work, I hope to see more collaborations with you two!
Thank you so much dearyou are very kind and compassionate for offering me and my friend more insightI will totally keep that in mind for future pieces to come who knows might even do more collaborations with the same artist
